A value is a product or service someone is willing to pay for. If no one is willing to pay for a product or service then it can’t be a value, at least in a business since. Children’s art may be precious and valuable to the parents, but it’s unlikely to hold business value.

Business creates values. Without marketable values a business won’t turn a profit or survive.

The values, the food, buildings, medicine, clothing, art, airplanes, entertainment, shelter, investments, energy, automobiles, home appliances, computers, music, cell phones come from business. Values come from the heroic efforts of businesses. Watch any episode of “How’s It’s Made” on the Discovery Channel. See for yourself the remarkable steps in manufacturing simple products like balloons or pencils. Everything of marketable commercial value comes from business.

There are thousands of business success stories, everywhere in every country in every era. Even in today’s weak economy, companies survive and some thrive.

Businesses’ honestly and freely create values that others want and need. There are so many successful business examples it’s pointless to even mention them.

Business success comes in all varieties: small, medium and large sizes. Subatomic to gargantuan companies all have proven successful, profitable, honest, creative in every near-free country of the world.

Are businesses perfect, of course not? Do they fail, of course? Unlike government nobody is forced to do anything, with the possible exception of mafia or gangster enterprises. Nobody forces you to buy from a store or shop at a market. Nobody forces you to invest. There is freedom between the consumer and the business. Business offers freedom of choice.

Government, on the other hand, destroys, confiscates and usurps values. Government blocks, regulates, confiscates and jails – government doesn’t create values. Only governmental military protection, police, fire departments are valuable. The only legitimate role of government – security and protection. Everyone is forced to pay taxes, like it or not agree with it or not. Government offers no option. Refuse to comply then at the very least government freezes assets, financially paralyzing you.

What are the governmental success stories? What is government successful at doing exactly? What examples do they have, can government point to for their success? What has government done successfully outside of protection through the military and intelligence services?

Government confiscates taxes with force or the threat of force. Almost every branch of government has an armed division – agents armed with guns. Government does by force what businesses could do through free choice.
